How I make a difference

"Beauty will save the world", - A. Chekhov

What is art? For me, art is a beauty, emotions we feel while looking at or listening to it. "A work of art which isn’t based on feeling isn’t art at all", - Paule Cézanne. From the early age I have had a gut feeling that I have a lot to tell this world, to change it. And this is how I found myself in art. I think art itself makes a difference, encouraging people to make an action while altering this world for the better.

As every artist, I truly hope I am a part of this huge wave of improvements. The deal is that my art has the real purpose - to bring out all the emotions in existence, either good or bad, in any viewer’s mind. I depict some situations that have never been shown before, that are not published anywhere. My recent work "Forgiveness" is one of them. In the painting there are two people - a girl and her dad. The girl is crying, while dad is sitting on the floor in front of her and asking her for forgiveness. He hurt the little one. Although this picture is entirely made up, the plot is based on the bumpy relationship between my parents and me. Since I didn’t feel any close to them, like we were just neighbours living under the same roof, it gave me a push to express myself on the paper. Working on that painting allowed me to let my emotions and thoughts out, it made me feel relieved. When my parents saw the painting, they were a little shocked. It indeed encouraged them to reconsider our relationship and finally to have a real conversation. We were talking for almost an hour. Shaking all over, I told them everything I thought and felt. Silence. Some minutes later, my dad said sorry to me. We cuddled and promised each other from now on to try to share one another's mind. It was unbelievable. That was a moment when I realised how powerful my art might be.

All in all, the main aim of my art is to make a difference to myself, to help me become a better person, to change my own world. I’m sure that this is the only way to alter the bigger picture around me. Step by step.
