The Cripple
There was once a boy named Robin. He was just like any other boy in the world but the only difference is that he was a cripple. The bullies at school always teased him. Everyday he would have to face them. The bullies were Jeb and Max. Robin never fought back, instead he gives them advice. What they did not know was Robin's background. They did not know what made Robin a cripple.
Robin's father, Robbie, was an alcoholic since he was 5. His father would always abuse him mother. One day when Robin was 7, his father hit his mother so hard that she was admitted into the hospital. Even though his father did those horrible things Robin never hated him for that. He had always forgiven his father. When Robin was 11, his father was put in prison for public drinking and stealing. He was in prison for 2 years. Robin as a good son, visited him without fail everyday.
One day after his father got out of prison his mother committed suicide which triggered his father's drinking addiction. After a day full of crying bitterly his father invited Robin to go out for a drive. What Robin did not know was that his father had planned to commit suicide with him and make it look like an accident. In the middle of the drive Robin sensed that something was wrong with his father. His father looked lifeless. Just as he finished thinking that his father parked beside the road and got out of the car. Robin chased his father because he was walking into the oncoming traffic. A car which was driving there almost hit Robin's father but thankfully Robin was there to push his father aside.
His father fell and his head hit a tree. He instantly fainted and got a concussion. The next thing Robin realises he was screaming loudly for help. He looked at his leg and it was turned the other way around and it was impaled by an iron rod. Even though he was in pain, he was glad his father was still alive. As Robin was being rushed to the hospital he prayed for his father.
A few hours later after surgery, he was put into a bed in the ICU ward. He was awoken suddenly and demanded to see his father. The doctors advised him not to move and stay in bed because he was still in a critical condition but he refused to do so. Without a choice the doctors brought him to his father's bed. Robin was glad that his father was still alive and stable but he noticed that his father seemed emotionless to see Robin. Robin was a little confused so he asked the doctors. They told him that his father had amnesia. He was shocked to hear that news but he was glad his father did not remember that incident because if he did it would break his heart into a million pieces. Robin broke into tears as he hears his father say "Umm.... Excuse me, who are you and why do you want to meet me.".
As the days pass by Robin and his father goes to counseling together to gain his father's memory back. No matter how hard they tried they can not recover their old memories together.
It has been two years since that accident. His father has gotten bits of his memory back but it is still a long way to go. Even though Max and Jeb still bully him but it is fine to Robin because he knew that he was a cripple and it was to save his father.
