I can’t recall
I don’t remember it.
I can’t recall what it was.
Some great tragedy that once meant everything, now means nothing at all.
What I do remember is what happened after. When we screamed and cried and tried to hold on, but ended up falling apart.
I do remember how this forgotten misfortune Made those silent tears sneak down my cheeks, how it makes my heart hurt when i see an old photo- one of the ones i forgot to burn.
If only i could remember, maybe I could let you go. . .
