Lost in the Ocean
When I was young I always could see ahead of me. It was like being at the beach, floating on a boat, staring out at the ocean on a sunny day. I could see a mile of my life. All of the boats around me floated. The boat I rode on was a motor boat; I didn’t have to work to move forward. One day the engine died and I had no way to move. I was lost, I was stuck. As time passed the boats around me began sink more; the old rotten boards began to give away.
I had a dim fire to keep me warm and to guide me through the dark nights. The fire would brighten when I reached a boat that carried me further through the ocean. The rain and fog kept me cold, wet, and miserable. There was no land in my sight. No one could have reeled my boat in from the ocean. No could have helped me. Everyone has been lost, but some people are too deep in the ocean for their cries of help to be heard.
