From Scars to Stars
In my head there is a vision.
Instead of life there is death.
Cold.
Unforgiving.
I try to reach towards the stars.
Instead I rip apart my scars.
Pain.
It's engulfing.
Fear crawls up in my heart.
Is now even the time to start?
In their head there is a vision.
Instead of dark there is light.
Bright.
Shining.
They reach towards my open scars.
and turn them into bandaged stars.
Hope.
It's inspiring.
What was a fearful broken heart.
Is now a working piece of art.
In our heads there is a vision.
Instead of hate there is love.
Warm.
Moving.
We reach towards what could be ours.
A life of happiness AND scars.
Changing.
We are adapting.
When given a little bit of love.
People can reach to the stars above.
