yellow
Yellow is sunshine in a blue sky.
Yellow is lemonade on a summer day.
Yellow is country music in a pick up truck.
Yellow is the color painted into a vibrant sunset.
Yellow is the little sparkles on the lake reflecting from the sunlight.
Yellow is hugs from family and friends.
Yellow is fireflies dancing in the night sky during July.
Yellow are the beaks of the birds chirping in the morning.
Yellow are the sparks from a campfire.
Yellow is many things but most of all yellow is smiles, hope, longing for something more.

I wrote this poem because ever since I turned 14 summer hasn’t felt the same. When I was little every moment I was making memories and I didn’t notice. I love sitting and sweet little moments pop into my mind about when I was younger playing in the sunshine with the light from the sun beating down on my shoulders it brings so much warmth to my heart.
