Dreams
In the darkened room a small light shows next to a juvenile
soon starting to drift into a deep slumber,
their arm wrapped in a solid white casting.
I start to look at my options.
The first being a flowery field full of dandelions,
orchids, poppies, and some small grass
with some light rain sprinkling.
The second being a familiar dark room with a slim tall
black figure with white eyes looking.
The third being a memory
from a fun time sledding down a hill, to waking up from a
familiar beeping next to the white bed.
I chose the second.
As the juvenile shakes in their sleep jolting upward to look around
the darkened bedroom just to see it was a dream.
