The Fight
On that fateful night they fought.
My stomach was a painful knot.
I was scared to get caught.
As I creaked to their door.
I saw her on the floor.
I didn’t want to look at it any more.
I closed the creaky door.
He got up from the hardwood floor.
He yelled “we’re fine”.
Even though they both shared cries.
He stared at his shaky hand.
She stared at her shaken man.
They tried to reassure.
Their daughter who was mentally hurt.
