I wished on an apple once,

I then threw it at a tree.

I asked that God bring me a rope

If He was watching me.

And, either He was watching

Or He wanted to give me his rope,

For, once I looked up at the sky,

I saw that glimpse of hope.

But I didn’t need His rope,

I just needed that little look.

I saw the apples, the tree,

And a shake was all it took.

All the apples fell;

I didn’t need to climb.

I just needed to take a step back

And remember

That thinking too much is a waste of time.
