Level 16
“Vitamins are necessary for a healthy growing body. Vitamins prevent diseases,” but why does this matter? These girls believe that the vitamins are supposed to help kill off diseases, and the pills will help them stay alive from the toxins in the air. As the movie starts you see three girls sitting in the hallways of an all-girls boarding school playing Cat’s Cradle, and two other girls running around the hallways. As some talk about seeing the moon and getting a good new family. When they get ready for bed they have to wash their faces and take the pills. Walking in the hallway to do those things one girl bumps into another girl and drops her container and can't find it. As it comes up to her turn the buzzer goes off and two big guys comes in and grab her and take her away.
The girls go higher up in levels. They have to watch daily videos about how to be a clean girl and that is like a class to them. Lights turn off and they all go to bed. Ava tells Vivein to watch Greta, because she is always asking questions. Before Vivein goes to bed she takes her hair clip and draws a tally of how many days she has been there. Miss Brixll is the owner of the all-girls boarding school and tells them they are moving up a level to the Rose hallway but not all of them are going to. To level 16 which is their last year there. As she is telling them about going to their new families.
Vivien says, “Each hall has its top girl and in this hall, it will be her'' As they eat in a room Ava tries to talk to Vivien about Sophia. Vivien walks out of the room where they were eating and sees Sophia trying to get in a door that is locked. Walking to find something in the hallway. Vivian goes into the bathroom and Sophia scares her, but Sophia tries to talk to her about something. Vivien pulls her in the bathroom stall and yells at her and not to tell anyone that Vivien is unclean because then she would be taken by the guards The buzzer rings and the girls run out of the bathroom and into a room before the headmaster Miss Brixll comes in with a black bag full of white dresses that the girls get to wear.
As all the girls get ready for bed the light turns off which tells the girls it is time for bed, but Sophia doesn’t fall asleep because she didn't take the pill. The next day while Vivien is doing her chores Sophia comes in and tells her not to take the vitamins. Ava comes walking in and asked if Vivien could help with the sheets on the bed. Vivien agrees and walks over to help, and Ava asks what is wrong with Sophia and she says, “Nothing” as they continue walking Ava asks if she was “unclean.” Ava thinks that she is helping Vivien as she thinks they are friends. All the girls walk in a line to get their daily
vitamins and Geta is happy because the pills are blue. Vivien takes the vitamins but keeps it in her mouth. She goes to the bathroom and puts the pill in the toilet. After she does it she starts to cry because now she thinks she is “unclean” and can’t believe she did it.
Sophia tells Vivien, “When you hear the door open go into a deep sleep,” as she hears this the door starts to open and Sophia runs back to her bed one of the guards comes in and picks up Vivien and Olivia. An older couple comes in to look and the girls to see who they want to adopt things, and start to get a little heated. Vivien gets back in the bedroom after they leave Sophia gets up and asks what had happened. A while later you see them sitting on a chair waiting for the doctor to get a shot. After walking out of the doctor’s office Rita comes up to Vivien and tells her all about how great her day is and she is so happy for moving picture day.
After visiting Dr. Miro’s office and getting the shot, a girl throws up. Ava says she doesn’t want to be anywhere near an unclean and sick girl and they should call the guards. No one agrees with that. They are thinking about a plan to get the key to get out of there, but as they are thinking Vivien says they should ask Dr. Miro for help. The buzzer goes off and it is time for the daily video about how to be clean, but as they are watching it the TV shuts off and everyone is muttering to themselves. Ava yells at all of them. She walks into the doctor's office and gets another vaccine after that. At this point, Vivien is not feeling herself. Vivien and Sophia are talking and Sophia says that they should get the key from the guards by making a big scene. Ava starts to focus on what they are talking about.
But even with all the ups and downs in this movie they end up with a joyful, exhilarating ending. As you would think it is someone else that is involved with the girls disappearing but when you do find out in the end what really happens. I could say more about the movie “LEVEL 16”. I would rate this movie an 8 out of 10; I felt like there was too much talking and less trying to figure out what was really going on. Like you get a lot of that feeling that Ava is the main reason why girls are disappearing.
