The Forest
I'm out in the forest.
I'm feeling my poorest.
I'm not doing well
but everything out here is swell.
The flowers are blooming.
I'm not here assuming.
The trees have their buds.
My brain wants blood.
I come here so I don't feel alone.
I feel like skin and bone.
The deeper I get in this beautiful place,
the more I'm filled with grace.
The rays of sun slip through the green trees.
The only thing that matters is me.
I'm out in the forest.
I'm no long my poorest.
I'm no longer alone,
for I am at home.

I wrote this about how nature helps me feel less alone and like I belong. I've always been drawn to nature, and until I really struggled with mental I didn't realize how much it positively affects me. I live to go into the forest or go on a hike. I always come out feeling so much better.
