Loyalty, what is it?
It’s defined as
‘A strong feeling of support or allegiance’
That’s what most would say when asked
What is loyalty?
To me, you are the embodiment of loyalty
You’ve seen my highest high and my lowest low
You’ve seen me cry my heart out, Smile from ear to ear
You’ve seen me scream till my face turns red, and laugh till I can’t breathe
You couldn’t care less if my room is clean when you come over or not
I tell you everything, knowing I’m safe from judgement
Loyalty
I know you’ll always be by my side no matter what
My parents call you their second daughter
I call you the sister I never had
My dog loves you; my whole family knows you
All my friends know who you are
Even though you’ve never met some of them
Loyalty
Even after the biggest fight, not talking for weeks
We only came back stronger, nothing can pull us apart
We will always find our way to bounce back
14 years of life, 14 years of friendship
That’s loyalty

When asked to write a poem about a person I admire, she popped right into my mind. My best friend since birth, my other half, my sister. This poem is for my best friend, Julia.
