Life.
Waking up, I see the sun.
Open your eyes
Got everything, got the love, got the fame
Just running down that road,
don't know where, don't know how.
Life shouldn't be hard, but grasping glory is…
Got that promise for tomorrow
I pray for the future, for the opportunity
I understand it's a gift, it's a commitment
It hurts when your people leave
Have to cut my own path
Feel protected but always aware
Struggling, climbing, to see who I am.
Few to share the pain with
Many to share the joy
Few to understand the depth
Sometimes you get hurt reaching out
It's just life
Wandering in the wasteland
It's the journey, the work in between
Finding that flower, that path
The tragic truth men may never find
It takes effort, it takes time
The hopes, the expectations, the revelations
They crowd the path, they choke the light
The humor of coincidence, two sides seen
Finding a better way or winding wistfully
I call it the storm…
You can't be in the storm forever
It'll pass, it'll help you grow
The time we spend wasted on the weary
Let them spend their time in rest
Faith takes strength
The believer takes the brunt
For any faith, allegiance must be known
Sacrifice secures the reward
Kindness kills the self-proclaimed
Always finding new strength
I want to be free from fear
But fear feigns flight, its focus that follows
A diamond can only be cut so many times
Division weakens the heart, the soul
The greats know what to sacrifice
Yet strength comes from many
Cells divide to build a body
The powers play their pitiful part
They try to break the peace
Do they control our decisions, our thoughts?
All my decisions are my own, all my doing
When it gets hard, when the nights are long
When the pressure is on, the lights shining
I find the peace that comes with the dream
Yet the reality keeps it at arms reach
Failure is bound to my future
All I can hope for is help
All I can pray for is strength
Because you get one chance.
So I smile.
I grind, I pray, I dream.

I wrote this poem as a reminder to myself with one thought in mind; never to quit or give up on my dreams, because someday I know I'll be able to achieve my goals. Right now my goals seem far away, nevertheless the feeling of almost grasping them permeates my soul. The common theme that I've been trying to convey with my work, is that failure is the cornerstone on which a mighty foundation of success should be bulit. If everything was given to you, you couldn't truly savor it; pain, work and sacrifice must be offered before glory and fame can be handed out. I strive to live my life self-motivated and to be kind toward others, because without your fan-base who cares if you succed or not. I realize I will not be great unless I bring others with me, because its the team that wins the championships, its the human condition, its how we are built. I pray that I can continue to chase my dreams thoughout my life, I hope that my road allows me to achieve them. We all survive day to day, but its the future that I live for.
