The Lonely Road

The lonely road
is the only road
a lonely soul
has rode alone.
The lonely road,
littered with broken dreams,
leaves the traveler
growing weak like flowing streams
as they slowly leak.
Faded memories left to disappear
like chalk on a sidewalk
Regrets hang everywhere
like leaves, but they might fall.
The lonely road
is the only road
this lonely soul
knows well,
But once this road
has reached it's close
this soul reached its
own hell.
