To my 6 year old self
To my 6 year old self
Take a breath
Slow down
Relax.
Because life goes by like a lightning strike
Before you know it you’ll be 16 and
wishing you could be back on the beach
with your swim floaties
And the biggest problem you were facing
was the sand in your suit
Don’t grow up too fast, I beg
and never wish your life away
Being a child means no responsibilities
Savor it.
As you grow things will start to seem meaningless and petty
But do not conform to thinking nothing matters
The worst quality a human can have is being apathetic
Always care… even if it seems like it’s too much
When life feels like a black hole
remember the days on the beach
and remember that you are made up of stars and atoms that combined together
You are matter.
You matter.
