They say
They say to quit now,
That we will never be good enough.
They say that you will only get so far,
And have to turn back.
They say weakness comes with being a girl
And that's how it's always been.
We are living in the same world,
Yet still apart.
We work equally as hard,
Yet are told to restart.
We do our best to stay in line,
But it just knots us up like a ball of twine.
They say that it's just how it's supposed to be
That it's not you, it's me
But did anyone ask what I say?
I say keep bringing all you got
Because we won't back down now,
For equality is our strength,
And justice is our victor.
