How can I be weak when I must be strong?
Hiding the pain while I’m slipping away.
I grasp in the dark and try to hold on,
The rope that I held has started to fray.
Put on a smile when I want to just cry.
Inside it feels like I’m walking alone,
Saving my family with crumbling lies,
The loneliness now has become my home.
It starts with you to end the long battle
Bring yourself back from the tip of the ledge.
Ripping the chains that I used to rattle,
I see the brightness on horizon’s edge.
You never know how strong you really are
You’ll live through the pain, a smile as your scar.
