The book Deep Down Popular is a simple and easy read. The author sets the story up in a small town in Virginia. The story revolves around the tomboy of a main character, Jessie Lou and her obsession with Conrad Parker Smith. Jessie Lou lives with her mother, grandfather and her older sister. Throughout the book Jessie Lou learns that things that happen in life aren't always the way she wants them to be, but in the end life will reward you for what you've worked for.
