The Usual Rules: By: Joyce Maynard
The Usual Rules is a heart gripping book about a 13-year old girl Wendy whos mother dies in the Sept. 11 attack. After, she goes and lives with her father and his girlfriend where she meets new friends. The time spent in California with her father, made her realize life will move on even if she doesn't feel it will. She learns her mothers always there for her but that numb feeling won't always be there for her to feel.
